The last unit we had that was almost exactly like this finally had a couple buttons stop working after 17 years. After lasting 17 years without a problem, I didn't hesitate to get another one.

This microwave replaced a very similar GE Space Saver over-the-range microwave which provided 20+ years of service flawlessly. Unfortunately, a service call and replacement of diode or magneto would cost more than the on-sale price of the new microwave. This microwave is not quite as 'stylish' (square edges, rather than rounded edges), is larger inside, but has a smaller (13-inch vs 13.5-inch previously) 'lazy susan' plate. It functions excellently. The clock provides bright white night-light quality.

We like our new GE Microwave, it works well, has very nice features and is much more energy efficient than our previous one. With the exception of our Refrigerator all our appliances are GE Appliances. We trust the GE name...
