The Washer Detergent Dispenser contains and releases the appliance s detergent during the cleaning cycle. This part is designed to evenly dispense detergent throughout the fill process in Precision Dispensing washers; the container holds enough detergent for as many as 36 loads of laundry and will alert you when you need to add additional detergent. This is an accessory that can be used with select washing machine models only; check to see if your model number is compatible. No disassembly or repair experience is needed to use this accessory. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Agree with other reviewers, can't find any help that works (Maytag or independent). How do I fix or repair so detergent works full strength?

The machine washes my clothes well but I am no longer using the dispenser. Put the clothes in, CLOSE THE DOOR, add detergent to the washer and watch it run down the inside of the door glass, press start. This after the first dispenser quit working in a few short weeks. Cleaned everything, as directed, still not dispensing and filling with water. Ordered a new dispenser. First use...it's not working either. Now, just put the detergent in myself. Not a feature I would pay money for again...not what I expect from a Maytag. Disappointed.

Brand new washer. Already cartridge FILLING with water just as stated in other reviews. Low detergent light no longer indicates either. Ridiculous

Less than a year old and our dispenser fills with water. Machine no longer gives a “low detergent” light because it’s full of water.
