Known Manufacturing Defect Issue

I bought this TV about 5 years ago and was pleased with it initially. Maybe 1-2 years ago though I started to sometimes see the faint edges of a discolored rectangle towards the middle of the screen. I told myself I was just imagining it and shrugged it off. Last month though I was watching a show with many scenes with solid red backgrounds and could 100 see the discolored rectangle - a quick google search showed this was a known problem for this particular model and many people online said LG replaced their panels free of charge even outside of warranty. Example thread about the issue: https://www.avforums.com/threads/lg-55c7-rectangle-in-center-of-screen.2170330/page-7. Of course when I reached out to LG I was repeatedly refused this replacement service and was instead suggested to contact a repair center or even just buy a new TV side note - are you kidding me??. So now I am stuck with my discolored rectangle and not many other options besides prematurely replacing an otherwise perfectly fine TV. Needless to say I am very dissatisfied with this product. Buyer beware: your next LG TV might just be defective and youll be footing the bill when it shows up outside of warranty

I bought the TV 2 months ago and couldnt be happier. Great set with clear picture sound is okay so I added a sound bar. Very happy with purchase.

After a little over 5 years people and objects have a bright green tint. Had tv repair look at it and said it is fried. After reading on line that it has happened to many others I called LG and they refused to offer any compensation. It was my first and last LG product. Do not buy one.

Thought I bought a great TV. This is my fifth LG. Was very happy with the picture until I noticed horizontal green lines at the bottom of the screen which is Burn in. As diagnosed by your customer service department. They claim theres nothing they can do or we can do to improve. Except buy a new TV. Not a good example.. was considering the purchase of a new G3 65 inch for my family room. However I may think twice on that now based on the experience of the 55 inch.
