Great at first- tv goes out after 18 months

the picture is great when you first buy. this tv is not my main tv so it isnt used daily, yet somehow the screen has already gone out less than 2 years after purchasing. did some research, and it seems to be a common problem. for how expensive the tv was, i am extremely disappointed it hasnt lasted longer. will not be buying another samsung tv any time soon.

my first review was too long so i'm just going to say that i recommend this tv. the ui is very fast and responsive and it has great picture quality.

I bought this 9 months ago, tv works ok. Sometimes the picture hangs up, no blue tooth, no chromecast. Have it connected to wifi, will not do automatic updates on software or firmware. Have to install manually with flash drive. Only has 2 hdmi ports and no tv out port, only has input. Couldn't get the soundbar to work, called support, they had me reset the tv, nothing worked, said the soundbar was not compatible. I tried to tell them it had to be in the sound settings, they assured me I was wrong after 3 hours on the phone. I found the settings myself and got the soundbar to work. Not worth the money it cost.

Ok.. broke within 35 days.

Got it for extremely cheap as a closeout so I can't complain too much. The screen went out with 35 days of owning it. Samsung came out and replaced it within a week. We also have a 4K 8 series TV that we absolutely love.. the board went out on that one at 6months.. picture and price is great if you wait for a deal, but it is a risk because it may or may not live very long. Luckily Samsung has a good repair team.

Pros: Standard HD is fairly good on this TV and sound is above average. Cons: 4K is not good and it does not connect to 5g WiFi (false positive review says it does btw). I have a 65” Sharp that only cost $550 and the 4K is much better and it connects to 5g WiFi. Store rep recommended the lowest level Sony instead of this model and I wish I would have listened to him. I own LG, Sharp, and a Sony and this Samsung is at the bottom of the list. I am being generous with 2 stars.
