I researched TV’s in the 45/50 inch range for over a week for our winter home down south. Samsung kept coming up ahead of several other brands in the mid range market. I also found that Samsung sells some of it’s models on line. I called Samsung product support and inquired about this model. I was assured that it was a top of the line in 2017 and is a solid performer. It is a “Smart” TV and I am still learning some of the features. The size is perfect for our living room, picture is fantastic and the sound is great. I am really impressed with the metal stand that attaches to the middle of the unit. This stand is heavy and more attractive than the flimsy plastic feet on some other models and brands. We have had this for a few weeks now and love it. No Complaints! I am thinking about getting another one for our home in Kentucky.

Defect with external sound systems

I brought this tv this year. Had Bose Cinemate that worked on prior tv and all others in the house. Doesn't work with this tv. I bought converters, optical line, etc. No luck. I then bought a Samsung N400 Soundbar. Hooked up to two different HDMI cables. Losr connection in an hour. Hooked up optical. Worked but sound inconsistent on different channels. Bought a new HDMI rated for ARC and worked 2 minutes before HDMI disappeared from sound setup. Gave up. This tv plays nice video but will not work with a sound system. Returned soundbar. Waste.of time

New software update has frozen TV and made useless

I bought a Un49m5300afxza in December 2017. It had a good picture and worked great, but after a recent software update (Oct 2019), Samung update automatically downloaded unwanted apps that completely FILLED UP the TVs memory and also made the TV startup default to TVPLUS app (which Samsung got paid to do), then TV stopped working. Sometimes it will work for 10 minutes after a lot of effort to switch inputs, but mostly useless now as it reverts to a frozen state. This big mistake is making me RETHINK every Samsung device I own, including phone and watch, etc.

I bought this smart TV two years ago and right from the start had a lot of issues with it connecting to my home wifi, even though the router was located less than 2' away. I had to troublesheet the connection on a daily basis just to watch my streaming services. Now just last week the screen wouldn't come on, sound is working, but the visual is gone. And since it's out of warranty I guess I'm on the hook for fixing it. I think I'll be looking for something that is going to last longer next time!

My kids can use all its features

I have been using this TV for over 2 years and love it. Actually I bought a new Samsung UHD TV just because I love this one. My kids play Netflix and YouTube on this TV. No problems so far.
