I purchased this 40" TV 8 months ago and rue the day I did. Samsung does not tell you that this 40 inch model does not have a complete aspect menu, particularly absent is the inability to zoom. Consequently, if you have a library of letterbox movie CD's, you are forced to view the movie in a reduced size. Having a zoom function would adjust the size to a full screen image without distorting the image as happens if you watch letterbox in the 16.9 aspect. Also irritating is Samsung's very skimpy owner's manual and the limited picture and audio options that allow one to adjust the TV to suit ones taste. The audio adjustment don't allow for base and treble adjustments beyond a few choices. I sold this TV and bought the new Vizio 40" V-Series 40" TV which has a full menu of aspect choices, a bulky owners manual that is user friendly with detailed instructions and images to help even the most challenged technical users.

No zoom features!

Disappointing lack of zoom features have caused me to regret I ever recently purchased my 40” 4k Hd TV MODEL Un40Nu7100.. I have a library of recorded movies in 4.3 and letterbox aspect. Samsung’s specifications never indicated that it had no zoom function to allow a user to make proper adjustment to view images not in 16.9 aspect. The only aspect functions on this TV are high definition 16.9, 4.3 (which often squeezes the TV image improperly) and something called “Custom” which seems to imitate the 16.9 aspect. However, none of the zoom features exist to adjust more accurately older formats. I plan to sell this TV for the new Vizio V series which offer a full complement of aspect choices.

Colors are vibrant. Relatively easy to set-up and connect to wi-fi. I had space limitations and the TV could not be mounted on the wall because of a pocket-door. I looked at a lot of TVs. The Samsung 40" fit perfectly in the space available. I would choose the Samsung again.

Great tv until the internal chip fails and cracks the screen from the inside. Samsung warranty dept will send some totally unqualfied person like the dish installation guy to conclude that it was physical damage and he will try to sell you a new screen and a dish network. Warranty dept is totally unreliable.

Waited to purchase a 4K TV and glad I did. This UN40NU7100FXZA 40inch set is perfect for our small condo. I still have 2 other Samsung 1080p TV going strong and a few other Samsung products so had some confidence on what I would expect with this new TV. The picture quality and size is just outstanding on this 4K with 4k content. The apps work well, I have a 4k DVD player direct connected to it and an Apple Streamer + Fire TV streamer ( i like gadgets ...! ) A few Apple devices which also now work Samsung to cast from device to TV. The sound for a TV is pretty decent, but I mostly use my surround system for viewing. The up converting of lower resolution content is quite clear, better then I expected. I purchased this set at my local Target at a clearance price I just had to take advantage of. These 40 inch sets are hard to come by, and Samsung doesn't seem to offer a 40 inch 4k TV for their new line. This particular set dimensions just fits in a cabinet we have, anything larger would not fit. A few other brands have 40 inch, but I prefer the Samsung TV's overall. I would have preferred a higher end TV but for what this TV offered and the size limitation this set is perfect. A few minuses, Remote is not as streamlined as the my other Samsung TV remotes, have to navigate to many menus to make even basic picture mode changes. Off axis say around 40 degree or higher picture washout to much, but stay at 30 degree or under picture is fine. Not fond of the stand style, my other TV have the center post with stand attached to it. These are minor gripes and one has to consider its not a high end TV. Other than these minor gripes we really enjoy this set and movie and TV watching. I'd would like to ask Samsung if they offer extended warranty?
