Freezer

I like the refrigerator and the style but when we open the freezer there is always water and ice on the seal. I don't know why or what to do about it.

This fridge is great as long as it’s working . Broke exactly 13 months after purchase and just recently again exactly 12 months later . Not much help from Maytag since we didn’t buy the extended warranty . The thermostat freezes over in the back of the fridge rendering the refrigerator section really hot but the bottom freezer keeps working .this is a common problem / defect of manufacture and they are aware of it ! So frustrating dealing with them !

After 2 years of use, I offer the following review. The fridge is nice but a step back in technology. The upper refrigerator portion has no defrost feature, you will be required to empty the fridge about once a year to manually defrost the upper portion. Maytag will tell you to check seals and the like, but in reality, with a family, you will open and close the doors a lot and introduce humid air that will freeze on the coils. When the milk doesn't last, time to defrost. Once the coils start to freeze there is no stopping it....2500 dollar fridge...Maytag name.....same whirlpool junk.

Broke 6 times in 4 years - repair bill total $1300

We bought the last model of this same fridge and thought it was wonderful at first... then it broke, and broke again, and again, and again. We're already almost $700 in repair costs deep (not including lost food and water damage to our house), and now it needs $600 more in repairs. Here is a list of what has broken on it so far: 1. Waterline embedded inside the ceiling of the fridge ruptured and flooded the inside of fridge and then my kitchen. Repair cost: $220 2. Door closing cam snapped. Repair cost: $175 3. Adjustable foot that levels the fridge snapped. Repair cost: $50 (I didn't fix this) 4. Freezer thermostat stopped working and spoiled an entire freezer of food. Repair cost: 200$ plus food 5. Freezer thermostat is now not working properly again - temperature is off by 15C. Repair cost: $200 (assuming I do it again...) 6. Ice maker thermostat quit working today, so now the ice maker won't function. Repair Cost: $400.

Unfortunately we didn't see the reviews about the frost behind the drink drawer issue before we picked this fridge. Really disappointed for this to keep happening. Now it's sounding like a freight train and the frost is back. We already had it repaired once, needs it again and worried about it spoiling our food whenever we travel.
