Ice Maker Freezes Every Week

Good size refrigerator that does the job well. Freezer is a little tight, but works well. However, the ice maker is one giant piece of junk. Stops making ice anywhere 2 to 10 days after service. Supposedly there is a kit where you basically rebuild the ice maker including the water line to get it to work, but for a $2,000+ appliance, I should be McGuyvering some repair kit from Ebay to get my ice maker to work. Stay away from this appliance and Electrolux.

First and last Electrolux refrigerator

We just bought a Electrolux refridgerator on clearance and were told that the new models came in and that is why it was discounted. After delivery we noticed a dent/wave in the front right above the ice and water dispenser is located at and after talking to the manager of the place we bought it from, he stated that it was a problem that this model EW23BC87SS7 has but was never disclosed to me when we purchased it. It also has a leak in the front (the deliver and installation staff checked for leaks from the connection site, so it is not coming from where it is hooked up). I was so looking forward to my first Electrolux refrigerator but sadly it will be my last. We are going to have the appliance store where we bought the refrigerator pick this one up since we noticed right after delivery and refund us our money and will go with a different model and will not buy from the local appliance store that did not disclose to us about the manufacturer issue with the wave/dent above the door. After checking the reviews here I noticed I am not the only one who experienced this issue.

I find that had several issue on this product as well as others in particular with service. For one of appliance it took over 4 weeks to get the repairman…horrible!!!!

We ordered this fridge to replace our prior Electrolux. It was the exact same specs, with the same storage bins we enjoy!! The glass shelves are adjustable which is nice. I wish the plastic water spout on the door water dispenser wasn’t visible but this is just aesthetic —- it works great!

Beware the defective ice maker

We bought a house with this refrigerator, and like so many people, our ice maker has stopped working. It will cost more than $900 to replace it. What a shame that this will be our first and definitely last experience with Electrolux.
