light bulb takes out electric control

Have owned the microwave for 2.5 years. Was great till this morning when the light bulb blew when turning on the light with the light switch on the panel. When replacing the bulb, the replacement blew immediately when installing, switch was off. The second replacement bulb stayed on even though the light switch was in off position. After researching on internet, seems the light bulb blowing can take out the electronic panel. Poor design! The replacement panel costs as much as a new microwave, and that's without any labor charges. Will look for other brand as replacement unless someone from Maytag cares enough to help on this one.

Mine was purchased from my builder whenever my house was built and they work fine the microwave worked fine until one day I noticed the plastic film on the inside of the door started melting and the word “door” pops up on the LCD panel about every other time you use, i have to open the door and slam it to get the microwave to work this microwave is right at three years old and no one wants to help me as far as warranty work I have called Maytag I’ve called the store that they purchased it from and basically i get “go buy another one sorry thank you very much” and for the french door refrigerator the handle on the bottom freezer drawer after 3 years of opening the handle gets wore and will not stay tight so it just flops up and down, im sure eventually it will break off if i dont do something about it. so I think Maytag/Whirlpool has the potential to have some good stuff however their warranty sucks and their appliances need to last longer than 3-4 years
